JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sr. Producer, Audience Development will work across National Geographic social media platforms to ensure that we’re actively engaging audiences and delivering on key metrics, including traffic to the website. This role will be responsible for activating audiences on existing social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, as well as work to identify new and emerging platforms including National Geographic’s podcast, and convert these active audiences into subscribing members. This role will work closely with the editorial and marketing teams so that content is created for audiences and optimized for success, focusing on SEO, headlines, video and photo placement, to drive audience growth. This person will oversee a team of social media producers. This role will have supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Primary lead for all NGP content teams for creation, optimization and distribution of content for social audiences.
  • Strategy and execution for new and emerging social media platforms to identify new ways to reach audiences, including managing promotion for National Geographic’s podcast.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with other divisions including Marketing to create campaigns that will convert audiences to members.
  • Identify brand ambassadors (both staff and non-staff) and build activations to engage them.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understand basics on budgeting.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, PC/Mac etc.
