JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for administrative and coordination duties for development team based in Washington, D.C. responsible for well over 200 hours of programming per year. Overall responsibilities include providing administrative support, industry event and conference coordination, and departmental administrative tasks as assigned. 

Responsibilities:

Provides administrative support to the SVP of Development and Production including:

  • Manage day-to-day and conference scheduling with production companies and internal teams. Includes multi-time zone video conference coordination for pitch reviews.
  • Organize multi-city and international travel (avg. ~25 trips/year); books flights, hotel, and car rental, coordinates necessary travel documents.
  • Track monthly budget; completes re-classing of expenses, processes invoices, and assists with proposed yearly budget.
  • Oversee SVP’s expenses; processes receipts through internal expense application.
  • Highlight priorities for SVP action and review.
  • Provide support for team of five individuals.
  • Assist with miscellaneous projects on an as-need basis.

Provides administrative support to the Senior Director of Development including:

  • Manage day-to-day and conference scheduling with production companies and internal teams. Includes multi-time zone video conference coordination for pitch reviews.
  • Organize multi-city and international travel (avg. ~10 trips/year); books flights, hotel, and car rental, coordinates necessary travel documents.
  • Oversee Senior Director's expenses; processes receipts through internal expense application.

Other Duties

  • Additional skills that benefit the team and the department: proficient in Word, Excel, Filemaker Pro, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, and Outlook. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and professional demeanor. 
  • Incredibly task and deadline oriented and able to juggle multiple pressing assignments simultaneously.
  • Creative, unflappable under pressure, and has a “whatever it takes” attitude. 

Requirements:

  • B.A. or B.S. minimum of one year in a professional environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required. This includes experience in and ability to give and take pitches and present shows to full Channel as new programming is rolled out.  Ability to conceive of and pitch original ideas is essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, team-work, and ability to take initiative to problem solve.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Explorer are needed.
  • Demonstrated skill in developing and maintaining effective business relationships is necessary. Good organizational skills and attention to detail are required. The ability to multitask and work effectively under changing priorities and daily time constraints is required.
