JOB DESCRIPTION

The FX Finance department is seeking a Director to oversee all phases of pre-production, production, and post production ranging from show set-up to wrap. This position oversees the Overall (aka “term”)/First Look deal process through Finance inclusive of WGA contributions and recoupment reconciliations, and direct all finances related to development. 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all phases of production accounting on multiple FX shows from pre-production through wrap.
  • Manage financial oversight of Overall/First Look deals, including monthly WGA contributions (calculation, adherence to guild caps, communications with Payroll), monthly reporting for FX management, corresponding with productions and co-producing partners to bill back recoupable projects, and forecasting write-offs of un-recouped balances for FX Finance.
  • Daily interaction with show Production Accountants to identify and address any problem areas, as well as ensure accurate and timely cost reporting.
  • Communicate daily with internal Production and Business Affairs departments on production related matters, to resolve any payment issues and help clarify questions about payment instructions.
  • Reconcile and approve all co-production deficit billing and all co-production and licensed show license fees and breakage invoices based on contract interpretation and communications with Business Affairs.
  • Review domestic and foreign cash flow and funding requirements against production budgets.
  • Conduct production spot audits, and amend production accounting manual for updated protocols to ensure compliance.
  • Manage production cash flow as it related to LRP/Corp Budgets & Forecast.

Requirements:

  • Four year college degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of finance experience required.  Minimum 5 years of Production Finance experience and at least 4 years of management experience required. 
  • Must have experience in understanding and interpreting ATL contracts and knowledge of guilds.
  • Must be solution focused.
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Must be organized, able to multitask and be a team player.
  • Strong MS Office skills required, with an emphasis on Excel.
