Our summer internship program is a fun, exciting and education-packed 10 weeks. Each intern is specially selected and placed in a department that best fits their skills and interests. Throughout the 10 weeks they will be mentored and supervised by a Blue Sky professional in that field.

All of the Summer 2019 internships start in early June and end in early August. They are open to all college students whose graduation dates fall within the following time frame: Winter 2018 through Spring 2020. All applicants must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company.


Environment artists are responsible for creating the world of the story by means of modeling, texturing, propagation, set dressing and set extension.  It is a cross discipline roll that also welcomes specialization.  An artist can focus on a single area of interest, such as modeling or look, or see an asset through the pipeline from rough model, and materials to high res sculpt to propagation and set extension.  Candidates are not expected to be proficient in all steps of the environment asset production to apply, but a multi-disciplined approach is encouraged.   A working knowledge of Maya and/or Houdini is required.  Zbrush/Mudbox, Substance Designer, Substance Painter, and/or Speedtree are a big plus as well.

Education and/or Experience Required:

Pursuing BS or MS in Animation, Fine Arts, Computer Science, Computer Visualization or related studies.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Skills in one or more of the following environment disciplines: modeling, materials and set dressing and matte painting.
  • A working knowledge of Maya and/or Houdini is required.
  • Experience with Zbrush/Mudbox, Substance Designer, Substance Painter, Speedtree and scripting experience are a big plus.
  • Ability to take creative direction and embrace change.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Familiarity with Linux a plus.
