Fox News is looking for an IT Network Security Engineer to join our New York Bureau. As the Network Engineer you will be part of a team responsible for delivering corporate network and security services for the datacenter and branch offices in a 24x7x365 environment.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking with an emphasis on configuring and maintaining security solutions. 


  • Evaluate and recommend new products while maintaining knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise
  • Requirements gathering, planning and assessing current configuration
  • Work with outside vendors to successfully test and integrate new technology
  • Fast isolation and resolution of network security issues
  • Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards
  • Respond to information security incidents/tickets
  • Run vulnerability scans and help resolve findings of tests


  • Working knowledge of Security Technologies
  • Extensive knowledge of networking
  • Experience with Arista, Cisco and Brocade
  • Working knowledge of routing protocols and various LAN and Wan topologies
  • 3-5 yrs of relevant IT security experience
  • 3+ years of experience configuring and managing Palo Alto Firewalls
  • 4+ years of experience managing vulnerability and risk
  • Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal and writing skills
  • High level of knowledge associated with incident response activities in a distributed environment
  • Familiarity with security industry standards (ISO 17799, NIST 800 series, etc.) and best practices
  • CISSP, CISM, or CISA certification preferred
  • Fundamental understanding of computer forensics.
  • Vulnerability Management
  • Experience with Intrusion Detection Prevention Systems
  • Working knowledge of different Firewall platforms
  • Working knowledge of NAC, HoneyPots, Proxies,
  • Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
  • Good knowledge of Wireless technology
  • Advanced experience with Next Gen firewalls
  • Strong understanding of data analysis, computer applications, IS security standards and network architecture
  • Knowledge of security hardening of desktops and servers
  • Experience with SMTP/TLS and E-mail filtering software
  • An understanding of DLP policies and standards with the ability to contribute to the organization’s implementation and maintenance of these policies
  • Knowledge of Security Auditing procedures
