Analyzing channel performance and providing inputs based on consumer understanding on the following:

  • Studying trends, markets, and specific TG’s of shows both on STAR Jalsha and competition.
  • Analyzing viewership trends and planning actionable inputs across programming and promotion
  • Regular report on show health, character strength, awareness levels to aid marketing and programming team


  • FPC Planning
    • Planning Monthly and Annual FPC
    • Promotional priority planning
    • Planning Launch of shows and hence impact on Repeats and Transitions of FPC
    • Planning- Scheduling based on Ratings objectives for Movies and Impact Events
    • Strategy-Breaks planning/ Strategy for fiction / nonfiction content
    • Strategy - Estimations of Competition ratings and Impact on weekly Schedule
    • Strategy-Day-part, Time slots analysis, Duplication, Weekends planning, viewer migration
    • Implementation of the FPC coordinating with Content Team, Marketing, Operations
  • Quantitative
    • BARC Analysis - Existing Shows/ New Shows
    • Competitive Tracking of weekly  trends on BARC data
    • BARC – Profile, Markets, Genre, Share probes
    • Knowledge of BARC is a plus
  • Assisting in strategy formulation and preparing business presentations


  • MBA with 6-8 yrs. of experience in media research /  business analytics roles


  • Ability to analyse significant data and derive insights on a real time basis
  • Ability to understand and crunch BARC numbers for content and FPC planning preferred
  • Consumer insights and Research methodology knowledge preferable, but not a must
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Bengali preferred


  • Bias for action, ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Team skills – ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
  • Good communication skills
